The article presents empirical data on the comparative study of regulatory processes and regulatory-personal properties of first-year students with different levels of adaptation to the environment of a medical university. The statistical differences obtained by the author indicate a significant decrease in the formation of
self-regulation of educational activity among students from high to normal, reduced
and low levels of adaptation. The specificity of the manifestation of the processes and
properties of self-regulation at each of the levels of adaptation, as well as the consonance of the levels of adaptation and levels of self-regulation allows us to state the
existence of the relationship of these phenomena, as well as to actualize the issue of
the determinative and prognostic role of self-regulation of educational activity in the
success of the initial period of study at the university.
