The article considers a computer-related aspect of George Polya's heuristic technique in the educational process. The study has been carried out within a system for automatic solving planimetric problems. The process of transition from the de-scription of a problem in natural language to a formal description and drafting has been studied. The process uses the approach of cognitive schemes for the subject area, which integrates knowledge of natural language and interactive visualization of the solution. A method for the ellipsis resolution based on cognitive semantics has been used when processing the text of the problem. Experiments that generally con-firm the prospects for the developed approach are described. Expansion of research in the described direction is proposed.
