The use of animated cartoons for associative learning and critical thinking growth in English language education

Abstract

The article deals with the key strategies of developing critical thinking in primary school English lessons. The research shows that among a variety of tools and strategies the most efficient ones are animated cartoons, which includes problem-solving scenarios, Socratic questioning, mind mapping, logic puzzles and riddles, decision-making activities, predicting outcomes, research projects.
