Abstract:
Abstract: We considered capabilities of electrochemical analysis for the determination of organic compounds in aqueous-organic and dispersed media. The main factors affecting the electrochemical characteristics of analytes and the contribution of the solvent nature to the operational and analytical characteristics of the corresponding sensors are determined. Several examples are given of the implementation of the advantages of electrochemical analysis using homogeneous aqueous-organic solutions, emulsions of organic solvents, and individual drops at an electrode–solution interface. Biosensors operating in the presence of organic solvents are also discussed.
