A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 IN RUSSIA ON THE EXCHANGE RATE OF THE RUSSIAN RUBLE AGAINST THE US DOLLAR

Abstract

This study is based on measuring the impact of daily infections with the Covid-19 virus on the exchange rate of the Russian ruble against the US dollar. To do this we determined the graph of the two time series and the most important descriptive statistics for them, then we studied the correlation between two variables that was very weak equal to 17%. We found that there is an effect of daily COVID-19 infections on the exchange rate of the Russian ruble against the US dollar, but this effect is weak, equal to 3 %.
