There are several eco-friendly options to select from depending on the cost, material, preference, and the design of your home. Roofing is not a one size fits all kind of a situation. In this study the possibility of predicting the durability of the eco-friendly roofing polymer material based on ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM) in conditions of accelerated atmospheric ageing has been examined. EPDM has mainly a limit main chain, which gives it resistance to UV- radiation and ozone, good elasticity, frost resistance, accessibility (EPDM production is established in petrochemical enterprises of Russia). The proposed Map of the operation of roofing material for the II climate region (Russia) made it possible to draw up accelerated test modes. The calculation of climatic factors is fetched to the conditional year, modeled in the accelerated ageing plant. It was found that thermal oxidation and structuring processes prevail in the aging process of the polymer material. The aging processes of the polymer composition of the roof carpet are also influenced by fillers. It is shown that materials most resistant to UV radiation are filled with carbon black, and in thermal aging - materials with fumed silica. Furthermore, they can relatively reduce the relevant environmental issues. The process activation energy was calculated from the elongation values. The evaluation of the obtained data allowed building a material forecast line: with carbon black - 16-25 years. The durability of the material with fumed silica taking into account ageing is predicted to be 10 years. The data obtained make it possible to predict the durability and being eco-friendly of elastomeric materials in accelerated conditions for different climatic regions and with different concentration of fillers.
