© 2020 Aquilo. All rights reserved. The formation of historical consciousness remains an urgent requirement for historians on the part of society and the state. Public history unites in response to this challenge the efforts of professional historians and other actors in the public space of historical knowledge. The article summarizes the theoretical approaches to public history and socio-cultural practices for developing a conceptual basis for the new master's program. Structurally, the consideration of the theory and practice of public history is undertaken in conjunction with fundamental contextual approaches that are characteristic of society, mastering various periods of world history - the reception of antiquity, medievalism, and historical politics, as well as with the analysis of practices, traditional for the communicative, social and artistic fields.
