This article considers the concept of digital economy, proves its relationship with the educational environment and shows the level of conformity of education with the processes of digitalization in the Russian Federation. The main problems and barriers to the development of the digital educational environment are considered, as well as options for solving these problems are presented. The following methods were used in writing the article: analysis of economic sources, comparison, synthesis. In the article, the authors refer to the opinion of authoritative sources and cite their position on this issue. The development of long-term government programs suggests that Russia is on the path of digitalization, which means that the entire educational system needs to be revised and modernized.
