The solution to this problem is often generation of heat and electricity in own production. Some aspects of the electrical energy production in chemical plants using both primary and secondary energy resources are considered in the paper. The analysis of energy supply of biological wastewater treatment plants is carried out. A power production scheme on disposal of biogas produced is proposed. The technology will provide a solution to the environmental problems, production of own electricity at low cost, energy independence and a load reduction for the electrical networks. The possible schemes of electricity generation in the production of ethylene with utilization of gas flow heat in a pyrolysis furnace are considered. The energy costs prediction method for an upcoming period is proposed. Using the neural network model of electricity consumption prediction, the prediction horizon and the retrospection step in one day were used for the first time. Based on the numerical experiment, the optimal amount of electricity consumption in hours past has been determined taking into account in the prediction. The positive effects of power generation in chemical plants are noted. The problem of increasing the energy efficiency of an enterprise can be solved due to own production of electrical and heat energy.
