The article analyses the issues of English language teaching in terms of foreign language mastering and ways of organizing listening via qualitative comparative methods. In result, the students’ acquaintance with English and American literature takes place not only in Practice course of the first foreign language including home reading but also in such courses as the history of English and American Literature and Stylistics. As a conclusion, one of the most important parts of teaching scientific language is home reading when students work with scientific articles from English magazines by themselves.
