Facial characteristics of the Ufimian bituminous sediments

Abstract

The Ufimian formation contains bituminous sandstones (Sheshminskian subformation). The main area of these sandstones is found on Kichui-Shesma structural zone at the western slope of South-Tatarian Arc. In this paper log data (GR) and core data from a lot of key deposits were considered to receive the scheme of sequence including alluvial and deltaic facies. Sandstone member corresponds to most active delta progradation stage confirmed by grain size distribution. Petrophysical characteristics (porosity, permeability, bitumen saturation, carbonate content) were also represented. It was concluded, that a prospecting of bitumen non-structural traps can be promoted on base of detail alluvial-deltaic sequence reconstruction.
