Conceptualization of emotions based on metaphorical principle in the English and tatar languages

Abstract

The paper outlines conceptualization of emotions describing inner self and their reflection in the linguistic world view. The research deals with the emotional aspect of communication in different cultures - English and Tatar. Russian language is used for description. Idioms, proverbs and extracts from fiction with color and orientational metaphors are used as a research material. The research results represented by emotional metaphors show the ratio of general characteristics to differential ones.
