The description of a species of the genus Blasispirifer adds to the Kazanian assemblage of brachiopods from Tatarstan. The assemblage of Kazanian spiriferids from the stratotype sequence includes representatives of the following genera: Licharewia, Tiimarinia, Permospirifer, Odontospirifer, and Blasispirifer.
