Abstract:
The Leonid meteoric swarm, which was observed for the last time in 1966, is returning to the Sun, having a period of about 33 years. The increase of the swarm activity has already been noticed. By applying a numerical-simulation technique, an attempt is made to forecast the appearance of the compact portion of the swarm. This portion is related to the comet Tempel-Tuttle, whose orbital elements were used as a basis for calculations. © 1997 MAHK Hayka/Interperiodica Publishing.
