Peculiarities of dehydrohalogenation of phosphonium salts under the action of BuLi. Synthesis and X-ray and quantum-chemical studies of a new stable ylide

Abstract

The reaction of tributyl(5-hydroxy-3-oxo-2-phenylpyridazin-4-yl)phosphonium chloride with butyllithium involves dehydrohalogenation to form the corresponding ylide. The structure of the latter is studied by X-ray diffraction and discussed in terms of quantum chemistry.
