Analysisof the eigenmode spectra of dielectric waveguides

Abstract

Localization and discreteness of the eigenmode spectra are examined for cylindrical dielectric waveguides with a small discontinuity in the refractive index. A projective method for calculating the propagation constants, based on the use of simple-layer potentials, is suggested and analyzed. Copyright © 1999 by MAK "Haya/Interperiodica".
