Anisotropy of polarizability of sulfite group

Abstract

1. We determined the components of the axes of the polarizability ellipsoid of the sulfite group O2S=O and their orientation with respect to the bonds. 2. The ethylene sulfite molecule has the conformation of an envelope; the nitro group in 2-nitro-l,3-propanediol sulfite shields the C-C bond. © 1973 Consultants Bureau.
