Viscosity and structure of dialkylphosphorous acids

Abstract

1. Viscosity determinations on dialkylphosphorous acids in dilute carbon tetrachloride or benzene solution give value of ηequiv that indicate that these substances are in the monomeric condition. 2. By transesterification of diethylphosphorous acid by the appropriate alcohol the following substances have been synthesized for the first time: dinonyl-, didecyl-, dihexadecyl-, bis(β-phenylethyl)-, (ethyl)hexyl-, and (ethyl)octyl-phosphorous acids. © 1953 Consultants Bureau.
