DETERMINATION OF HALIDE IONS IN CINE-PHOTOMATERIALS BY IODINE(1) ELECTROGENERATED FROM CH//3I.

Abstract

A procedure is proposed in the article for the successive coulometric determination of halide ions in cine-photomaterials with iodine in the positive degree of oxidation plus 1, electrogenerated from CH//3I in acetic acid. The electrogeneration of iodine(I) from molecular iodine in glacial acetic acid and its application for the determination of halide ions has been studied. In halide mixtures the iodide and bromine ions are determined together, while the iodide and chloride ions, and the bromide and chloride ions are determined successively.
