The paper deals with the relevant problem: ensuring safety and sustainability of urban transport systems. Authors have considered existing positive world-wide experience of both infrastructure and managerial solutions. Using the city of Naberezhnye Chelny as an example, a method is proposed for improving the safety of transport systems by improving cycle structures. Proposed system is aimed at evaluating cycling infrastructure development projects, including the development or adaptation of a management system. In the system presented in the article, it is accepted that cyclist safety can be assessed using a risk coefficient. The danger degree is affected by the presence of intersections, the density and speed of the traffic flow, the bike path type, as well as its width. |
