dc.description.abstract When creating a digital fractal model of the Earth, a large volume of observations of structural and geophysical parameters of the planet was used. Such observations are also necessary both for the development of evolutionary and cosmogonic concepts and for the study of the phenomena occurring on the Earth. The creation and analysis of the Earth's digital fractal model (EDFM) are what this paper focuses on. The EDFM includes the distribution of fractal dimensions and self-similarity coefficients for spherical coordinates. The model is constructed with the use of the observations produced by Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) aimed at remote sensing of the Earth. ASTER was a part of Terra (NASA) space station on-board equipment. An investigation of EDFM ASTER was conducted using the methods of fractal geometry and multi-parameter harmonic analysis. Gradients of fractal parameters according to geographic longitude and latitude were obtained. The structural parameters of the Earth's macroFigure were studied given the results produced in this paper. A comparison of fractal dimensions for various areas of the Earth's surface has shown there are self-similar areas. That means, these areas are very likely to have been formed under the same conditions and processes. B работе разработан алгоритм for reducing Earth's surface images obtained by ASTER system.
