dc.description.abstract This article discusses the history of the ideological development of the organization “Students for a Democratic Society”, which played a key role in the struggle against American militarism, racism, violence, exploitation, economic and political exclusion of the population. The most important documents of the organization such as the Constitution, the Port Huron Statement, “America and the New Era” formulated the main provisions that determined the ideological, political, and social activity of this movement and its members. Thus, the “Students for a Democratic Society” has become the main driving force of the “New Left” movement, its ideas formed the basis of a broad anti-imperialist struggle in the USA.
