Abstract: In this paper, the particular attention was placed on the effect of interactions between saturates (S), aromatics (A), resins (R), and asphaltenes (A) on the oxidation behavior and kinetics of heavy crude oil. The results disclosed that the close interactions between SARA were observed during low-temperature oxidation (LTO). However, these interactions generated minor influence on heat release of LTO of the oil, which made it accessible to predict the thermal release caused by LTO from individual SARA components. The interactions between SARA components were much stronger at the high-temperature oxidation (HTO) region relative to LTO region, and noticeably intensified heat release of the oil. According to the results of kinetics, it was believed that the interactions between SARA components exerted minor influence on the reactivity of the oil during LTO, but obviously improved the reactivity of the oil during HTO. |
