dc.description.abstract The current paper interprets the issue of the family dysfunctions as a result of the processes of social transformation and migration in Eastern Europe with a special focus on the disturbed function of socialization which leads to deficits in the socialization process of children from transnational families (families where the parents work abroad while their children have been left in the country of origin and relatives take the care of them). Among the deficits in the socialization process the following can be underlined: deficits in the physiological, cognitive, psychological and emotional development of such children, deficits of care and control, deficits in education, value deficits. All these socialization deficits have a serious negative influence on the children's development and can cause cases of deviant behavior. The paper summarizes and analyses some empirically proven cases of negative influence of the parents' migration on transnational families and their children. ru_RU
