dc.description.abstract	© 2019, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. Abstract: The largest East European scylacosaurid therocephalian Julognathus crudelis gen. et sp. nov. is described based on materials from the middle Permian locality of Sundyr-1, Mari El Republic, Russia. Julognathus occupied the niche of the largest predator within the Sundyr tetrapod community, forming a trophic match with the herbivorous tapinocephalian.
