© 2019 IEEE. The paper considers a new type of radio wave scattering from meteor trails. Specifically, it is the first known attempt to examine an existence of the forward-backward scattering meteor trails (FBS-trails). The paper presents a theoretical proves of the existence of such trails made both analytically and by computer simulation. Using the developed simulation model, a daily variation of share of such trails is modeled for radio links of different lengths and geographic latitudes. Some distinctive properties of the FBS-trails are revealed. |
