dc.description.abstract © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. A quantitative assessment of the combustion temperature of methane-hydrogen fuel was performed using the approach proposed by Ya.B. Zeldovich. The average integral values of the heat capacities of the reacting (initial) substances (CH4, H2, dry air) were used. The specific heat of combustion of the fuel was calculated on the basis of the standard enthalpies of formation of substances. The stoichiometric fuel/air ratios for methane and hydrogen were found from the equations of combustion reactions, taking into account the mass fraction of oxygen in air of 23%. Heat loss coefficients were determined, which made it possible to calculate the actual temperature of combustion of a mixture of methane-hydrogen fuel with air for different ratios of methane and hydrogen in the fuel.
