dc.description.abstract Copyright © 2019 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved Timely detection and diagnosis of equipment malfunction is primarily necessary to prevent emergency stops of production process, equipment failure, and to avoid occupational injury of the personnel. In such cases, it is important to use automated systems for diagnosing problems, especially for hazardous and complex production. In particular, there are considered algorithms and mathematical methods for diagnosing faults in heat exchangers of steam turbine plants that can be used when introducing their automated fault diagnosis systems. Diagnostic table was compiled concerning main problems of steam turbine condenser installation with an indication of their main features and causes, as well as mathematical methods for their diagnosis. A general algorithm for diagnosing hardware problems has been developed. The method for diagnosing deposits on the heat exchange surface by the method of parametric identification has been improved. The identified value of the heat transfer coefficient can be used in an automated control system. The method for diagnosing damages to capacitor tubes using the method of testing hypotheses is improved. Knowing the concentrations of iron, dissolved hydrogen and oxygen according to the hypothesis testing method, we can establish the presence or absence of corrosion in the heat exchanger. The proposed methods for diagnosing problems of the capacitor will allow problems to identify in a timely manner and reasonably to plan measures to eliminate them.
