This paper presents the simulation results of field development optimization of low permeability carbonate reservoirs containing high viscous oil by the system of horizontal wells. The wells are located in special way to take into account the geological features of this field, the water injection at certain moments of time and all potential water breakthroughs from the WOC area. Multivariant reservoir simulation runs were performed in order to identify the optimal well density, the optimal length of horizontal sections, the well trajectory, as well as variants with a modified horizontal wells design. It was shown the significant increase of horizontal well operation effectiveness with the technology of separately-alternate work of different parts of horizontal wells in comparison with traditional methods of horizontal well operation. Thus, on the basis of the analysis of geological, technological and economic parameters, the best option was found for the further exploitation of not only the considering field, but also for the development of neighboring areas with a similar geological structure. |
