Natural bitumen and high viscosity oils are of great interest in the oil industry in recent years. Presented in this study high viscosity oil reservoirs are characterized by high lithological and structural heterogeneity. Such heterogeneities in reservoir reservoirs pose new challenges for geologists in lithological and petrophysical studies. First of all, it is the development of methods for interpreting well log data for the investigating structures. In addition, it is an analysis of the data obtained when interpreting laboratory studies of core, geological structures, petrophysical properties. This paper describes the influence of lithological characteristics of sandy complexes of reserves of high-viscosity oils. As an example taken two terrigenous uplifts of the Sheshma horizon, Ufa stage on the southeast of the Republic of Tatarstan. The results of the research showed that the deposits of high-viscosity oils of Nizhne-Karmalskoy and Melnichniy uplifts have a block structure and are subdivided into three types of sand complexes, each type having different values of the difference of the wavelet-GK extremes. Complexes of the 1st type are the most promising in terms of reservoir development by the steam-thermal methods of extracting high-viscosity oil, since they contain a minimum amount of clay material filling the inter-grain space, which is largely filled with fluid. Complexes of the second type are promising in terms of development of a reservoir in the contact zone with complexes of the 1st type. With the predominance of complexes of the third type, the reservoir porosity and permeability decrease and as a result decrease reserves estimates.
