KGaA, Weinheim We discuss the recent status of astrophysical analyses with digitized astronomical plate archives with emphasis on high-energy and transient astrophysics. These data represent huge scientific, historical, and cultural value, but only the recent digitization has enabled their effective use in astrophysics.
