dc.description.abstract The article touches upon the dynamics of the development of Russian private universities, reveals the advantages of foreign language education in the private and public education sectors. Foreign language training is considered according to the communicative competence components: social, sociolinguistic, linguistic, strategic, discourse, and socio-cultural. Assessment of the possible benefits and risks of the entry of the higher education sector into the international market of educational services has been carried out.
