© 2015 r. The paper demonstrates state of discussion related to issues of ethnocracy in Russian and international academic publications. Critically reviewed are various approaches to the notion of ethnocracy. A definition is suggested reflecting the essence of the phenomenon under review - domination of titular ethnic nation and subaltern humiliated of the opposing ethnic minority (-ties). Developments in Israel, Latvia, and Estonia demonstrate characteristic traits and specifics of contemporary ethnocratic regimes. |
