dc.description.abstract	The problem of reconstruction of a dielectric profile of a layer for single frequency is considered. The residual functional is constructed. The purpose of the paper is to select the frequency for which the functional becomes a more stable. It is shown that the frequency corresponds to the frequency of the minimum of the transited energy through a layer. Numerical experiments performed for ridge-shaped and complex profiles confirm correctness of the selected frequency.
