Using event indicators is a well-known approach for event extraction. However, in most cases, event indicators are represented as single isolated words. In this paper, we deal with composite event indicators consisting of two and more words. Composite indicators are crucial to track modality when extracting events (e.g., possible events, desirable events, etc.). We proposed algorithms for the extraction of composite indicators as well as algorithms for the extraction of event arguments from sentences with composite indicators. The research is focused on Russian as an example of non-configurational language. © Springer-Verlag 2013. |
