dc.description.abstract	Piperidinosulfenyl chloride and bromide react as electrophilic sulfenylating agents with 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid derivatives (an ester and an amide) in the presence of pyridine. In the absence of pyridine, the reaction yields related aromatic dinaphthyl sulfides substituted in the aromatic system.
