dc.description.abstract Nitrogen-implanted iron-carbon alloys, whose structures contain free graphitic carbon, were studied by conversion Moessbauer spectroscopy. The phase formation processes in the implanted layer were found to depend on the shape of the graphite inclusions and the regime of nitrogen implantation.
