dc.description.abstract The paper deals with the main stages of scientific and organizing activities in spectroscopy of member-correspondent of USSR Academy of Sciences, Professor S.A. Altshuler, who was one of the founders of magnetic radiospectroscopy. From the very beginning of his scientific career, S.A. Altshuler, as theorist, worked in the fields of magnetic and spectroscopic phenomena and nuclear magnetism. His name is known with the prediction of neutron magnetic moment, acoustic paramagnetic resonance phenomenon discovery, and a series of fundamental publications on paramagnetic resonance.
