dc.description.abstract Positron surface states and positron work functions have been computed for the (100) surface of alkali metals. Stable surface states were found in all cases, with the Li state lying 0.5 eV below the bulk positron band, and other alkalis having surface states a few hundredth's of an eV below the bulk bands. Surface and bulk state lifetimes were also computed.
