dc.description.abstract | 1. Organic compounds with an increasing degree of conjugation were synthesized and investigated by the EPR method: difurylpolyene ketones, difurylpolyene diketones, and also products of the condensation of the diketones with o-phenylenediamine. 2. In all cases an EPR signal was observed with a width between the points of maximum slope of ∼15 Oe. The magnitude of the signal decreased with the number of recrystallizations, reaching a limiting value of 1016 paramag-netic particles for 1 g/mole. 3. Measurements at different temperatures showed that the observed effect was independent of temperature. © 1964 Consultants Bureau. | |
