Abstract

Эволюция спорта к многогранному социальному институту, каким мы видим его в XXI в., начинается с первых шагов человеческой цивилизации. При этом современный спорт объединяет в себе разнообразные виды деятельности - от неформальных детских игр и оздоровительных процедур до жестко регламентированных соревнований высококлассных спортсменов-профессионалов мирового уровня, соревнований, порой опасных для жизни и разрушительных для здоровья. К тому же на пороге третьего тысячелетия спорт превратился в элемент потребительской массовой культуры, а его роль в экономической, культурной, политической сферах становится все более сложной и многообразной.

The sport evolution to a multifaceted and ambiguous social institution, as we see it in the 21st century, begins with the first steps of human civilization. Modern sport combines a variety of activities - from informal children's games and recreational procedures to rigidly structured and regulated competitions of high- class world-class professional athletes, competitions that are sometimes life-threatening and destructive to health. In addition, on the threshold of the third millennium, sport has become an element of consumer mass culture, and its role in the economic, cultural and political spheres is becoming increasingly complex and diverse.
