The problem of the discrepancy between the proton radius values obtained via spectroscopy of ordinary and muonic hydrogen is discussed. It is shown that there is a flaw in the standard theory of quantum electrodynamics that could produce such a discrepancy. © 2014 Allerton Press, Inc. |
